I don’t know about you Moms, but some times at the end of the day I’ll look around and feel like I haven’t gotten a single thing done. I know I’ve done things all day long, I have three kids, I’m basically never doing nothing. But it can be hard to nail down something that I actually accomplished when I’m staring a sink full of dirty dishes, and a mountain of laundry that needs to be folded. I needed to find a way to get stuff done!
Enter #MomHacks, simple changes that you can make to help yourself get more done each day.
[ONE] Put Your Kids to Bed Earlier- Y’all this is one of the best things I have ever done. My kids (aged 8 + 9) go to bed between 7:00 and 7:30 every single school night. Trust me on this, they need the extra rest. I’ve noticed a huge shift in their behavior, now that they are getting more rest. Plus it gives me a nice quiet evening to get things done.
[TWO] Wake Up Before Your Kids- Sort of the opposite of number one, I wake up every weekday morning at 5:30. I sit and enjoy the quiet, and I actually drink my coffee- while it’s still hot– you guys. It’s an hour out of my day where I can write down everything I want/need to get done that day, while no one needs anything from me. This was a game change for me.
[THREE] Write It Down- Everyone loves checking things off a to do list. Scratching through your ‘to-do’ list will make you feel instantly accomplished and you’ll want to get the next task done! So grab a notebook from your stash, and write down everything you need to do–bonus points if your notebook has flamingos!
[FOUR] Put on Real Clothes (and make up if you’re feeling particularly ambitious 😉 )- No one loves a pajama day more than I do, but whenever I stay in my PJ’s all morning, I don’t get anything done…I sit around and binge Gilmore Girls on Netflix, again. Something about the act of putting on new clothes (that I would go outside my house in haha) makes my brain shift into doing mode.
[FIVE] Eat More Protein- A mom can not live on coffee alone, friends. We could all benefit from a healthy protein boost to get us going in the morning. For the past couple of weeks, I’ve made Perfect Bars my choice for my early morning protein.
