Y’all, real talk here…Groceries are so dang expensive. If you’re following our facebook page, you’ll know I posted this last week
where I asked you guys what you spend on your groceries monthly and how big your family is. I wanted to know what y’all were spending to feed your family’s because I always feel like I have a skewed sample because we live in Hawaii, which is basically the most expensive place–ever. I feel like I used to have a pretty good handle on my food bill, but since we’ve moved to Hawaii I’m definitely spending way more than I ever have on groceries… Like $1000 a month for our family of five. I also asked on my personal Facebook page, and here’s what I found—everyone feels like they’re spending a fortune on food every month. It’s not just me! Yay!
I don’t know about you, but I am constantly looking for ways to cut my grocery bill down a bit. In addition to using coupons, there are a bunch of ways to earn cash back on your groceries and other things that you buy as well, today I want to tell you about some of my favorite ways to get some cash back in your pockets!
I cannot say enough about this app. I flipping love it, y’all. They post cash back opportunities for tons of grocery items, each and every week. You’ll find everything from fruits and veggies to cleaning supplies and personal care items. The cash back can range from a quarter to $4.00 and sometimes more. All you do is go through the app and add the rebates you want to use, and then upload your receipt using your smartphones camera.. boom money back!
What I REALLY like about the ibotta app is the opportunities to get bonuses with your teammates. These bonuses range from $1 to $5 and they post multiple chances for these bonuses every month. When you connect to your facebook page, you’ll automatically become teammates with your facebook friends who are already using ibotta. So if you sign up now, you’ll get an automatic $10 bonus when you redeem your first receipt.
In addition to getting cash back on groceries, you can also use ibotta for mobile shopping, when you click through your ibotta app to the eBay or Amazon app. They also have restaurants and they just added Uber ($1 back per ride!) so really you can get cash back on tons of things!!
Seriously download this app now, you’d be silly not too, it’s free money. You can turn your rebates into gift cards for a bunch of different places or turn it in to cash via PayPal or Venmo. I take mine via PayPal and add it to my Disney savings (every little bit helps, right?)
SwagBucks is another cool way to earn yourself some free money. While there is a bunch of different ways to earn SwagBucks, one of my favorite ways to use it is by printing coupons. It’s the same coupons that you can print on coupons.com, but you also get SwagBucks just for printing them. Then you redeem your SwagBucks for giftcards (think Amazon, Target, eBay, etc) or get your cash back through PayPal like I do. You can earn more SwagBucks by taking surveys, playing games, searching things through them, watching videos et al. there’s seriously loads of ways to get your SwagBucks! Once you decide you love SwagBucks you can refer your friends and earn $5 when they sign up and a 10% bonus of whatever SwagBucks they earn…win win, friends.
But my very favorite ways to earn SwagBucks is by ordering my groceries at Sam’s Club, through SwagBucks. I click through the links on the SwagBucks website and earn 1-3% cash back on my groceries, pick them up in store and be on my way. (By the way have you guys tried grocery pick up…amazing, I’m obsessed!)
Much like iBotta, Checkout 51 is an app that offers cash back on groceries. You go through and select the rebates your interested in, buy those products, upload your receipt, and get your money. I love iBotta, I like Checkout 51. This one doesn’t offer as many bonuses and there is no referral bonuses when you invite your friends… bummer. It’s still good, I would just like them to add the bonuses and extras that ibotta has. But sometimes the two apps have the same rebates available and you can double up… Yay! With Checkout 51 you get your money back via check once you hit the $20 threshold.
So there you go, all my secrets for getting some cash back on your groceries my friends! Did I miss any that you know and love? Let me know in the comments and maybe I’ll add them in to the post! Don’t forget to share this post with your friends so they can get in on the savings also!
