It’s that time again, my friends…Back to School season is upon us! It’s been a long, hot summer here in Honolulu, and I’m pumped for the kids to be heading back to school. I know a lot of parents dread the back to school shopping but I LOVE it, I love buying pencils and folders, notebooks and backpacks, but most of all I love getting new lunchboxes and lunch packing stuff! I want to share with you guys my lunch box picks for 2016, my old favorites, and new stuff I’m excited about!
Back To School Lunch Box Picks:
EasyLunchBoxesThese have been and continue to be my go to lunch box. I originally bought them because when Kolton started taking his lunch to school he often had trouble getting the lids off of his containers, EasyLunchBoxes are made specifically to be easy to open. One of the things I love most about them is they’re just one body and one lid, so the kids don’t have to keep up with a million pieces. They’re sturdy, BPA free, dishwasher safe, and just well…awesome.
This is a new addition to our lunch packing arsenal this year. The Light My Fire Spork is every utensil you could need for lunch time, all in one compact package. It’s a fork, it’s a spoon, and a (not sharp enough to cut little fingers) knife too! I ordered two sets of four for this Back To School season!
Aren’t these Penguin Ice Packs from Fit & Fresh just the cutest!? We were sent them last year as part of a review and I was instantly smitten with them. Not only are they adorable but they get the job done! They can keep a lunch nice and chilly until your little one is ready to eat it! These come in a set of four frigid friends. 🙂
So this year (because of logistical reasons and only having one car in Hawaii) my big kids are going to be eating breakfast and lunch at school. I’m going to send them their breakfasts packed instead of sending them through the cafeteria line. I chose this Built NY Spicy Relish Bag for just this reason, it’s big enough to hold two ELB’s one packed with breakfast and one packed with lunch, a milk jug, and a water bottle, and even a smoothie pouch. It’s got plenty of room, without being gigantic in size, and it comes with a handle as well as a cross body strap for carrying. The price on these bags varies based on the design (and there are many cute patterns to choose from!)
These To Go Dressing Cups from Sistema are another perennial favorite of ours. They’re the perfect size for tucking in the kids’ lunch boxes filled with things like ranch dressing, or caramel for apple slices, nutella, and more. They’re 1.1 ounce each and come as a set of four.
So there it is! Our lunch box picks for back to school 2016! Hope you and your kids have an amazing year!
