***Although I received complimentary tickets and parking from The State Fair of Texas, all opinions expressed on Life Of Verde’s are my own.***
The Midway is where you’ll find all the Carnival rides you could ever want. You can test your strength, you can play the water squirter races, you can pop balloons. My kids couldn’t get enough. You’ll also find some really fun rides, like the Top of Texas Tower and The Texas Star ferris wheel.
2. Mother Goose Story Time-
Mother Goose from The Dallas Public Library reads the kids a story book, ours was Pete The Cat, they sing songs, and then all the kids get a goody bag from Mother Goose and her helper. So. Cute. Mother Goose couldn’t have been sweeter, and she takes pictures with anyone who wants one after the show. You can find Mother Goose at the Oak Farms Children’s Activity Center.
3. Little Hands On The Farm-
Little Hands On The Farm is a hands on learning activity for kids where they can learn how food makes it from farm to table. Kids start by getting their aprons, and gathering their supplies, then they plant seeds, harvest their crops, gather eggs, deliver their product to market, sell it for a profit, and use the money to buy a treat. It’s a great way to teach your kids where their food is coming from.
4. Free Ice Cream at the Food and Fiber Building-
Three words people–Free Ice Cream. What kid wouldn’t love that!? You can get free vanilla soft serve cones from the Southwest Dairy Farmers. You can also sample other Go Texan brand foods as well.
5. The Starlight Parade-
I love Parades, and nighttime parades are in the perfect way to end a perfect day at The State Fair of Texas. The parade does especially well, there are floats to represent many Texas cities, including San Antonio, which is of course–Fiesta themed!
These are just a few of the many, many fun options for kids at this year’s State Fair of Texas, you should definitely check out the Pig Races at the Pan American Arena, and the kids boardwalk too, where your little ones can get free face paintings, tattoos of Big Tex, and take some adorable photos!
Huge thank you to Big Tex and friends at The State Fair of Texas for the tickets!
