***Although I was sent these books in exchange for my review, all opinions expressed on Life Of Verde’s will always be my own.***
I’m not a person that does things half way, once I’ve decided I’m going to do something I jump right in. This is why I attended my first Homeschool curriculum sale, two days after I decided to homeschool. That’s right two days. I went with my friend Lauren who is a veteran homeschooler, she was sort of my guide that night and when she saw the Usborne Books table, and she went crazy I knew the Usborne line of books must be something special.
Recently, my friend Kenya, a certified teacher, started selling the books as a business. When she asked me if I’d be interested in checking out some of the books and doing a review for her, I of course jumped at the chance. When certified teachers and veteran homeschool moms are excited about a teaching tool, I pay attention.
Kenya sent me a sampling of a “Book Of The Month Club” she has started. It was adorably packaged (something I really love and appreciate) with bright colors. She sent us a book for each of the kids based on my telling her what types of books they like and she included a Organic and Non-GMO treat bag as well. The kids were so excited to get their book box in the mail–my kids love, LOVE getting mail. And I love anything that gets them (especially Kolton) excited about reading!
All of the books we received are so cute, and have the most fun illustrations, but the K’s favorite is absolutely the Muddle and Match Animals book. They had so much fun making up silly animals such as Frances the frog who has a bugs body, and a parrots feet, we used the Muddle and Match book to write an entry about a our made up animals in the big kids handwriting journals.
Not only does Usborne offer a range of adorable books but also games, puzzles and cards. We are totally smitten with our Usborne books and we’re working on our wish list— I gotta get my hands on this London Bus book for my little Brit Baby!
Kenya’s Book Of The Month Club has three levels:
- Level I- $15 Per Month- One Book a month and a special treat
- Level II- $25 Per Month- Two Books a month and a special treat
- Leven III-$40 Per Month- Three Books a Month and a special treat
The treats are Organic and Non-GMO verified snacks, or you can substitute 4 dry erase activity cards.
