Simple Stroller Rental Review
Hey guys! We just got back from a week long vacay at the Happiest Place on Earth, Disney World, of course! Today I wanted to share with you my thoughts on strollers in the parks.
Do you need one? Yes. Just, yes. I would say you need a stroller if you’ll be doing Disney with any kids under the age of… 7-8. It is seriously a lot of walking. I did the math, and we walked over 35 miles last week. That’s a lot. Plus it can carry all the stuff you’ll want to take into the parks with you (lunch, snacks, sunscreen).
Should you bring your own? You could but, it takes up a ton of room in your vehicle (room that you’ll need for souvenirs on the ride home). We have a h-u-g-e SUV and I was still concerned about the amount of space that would be lost because of the stroller and we only have a single.
Should you rent one of Disney’s? Not at $31 a day friend. Plus they don’t look very comfortable, all plastic + Florida heat…no bueno. Also, they can’t leave the parks…lame.
So after scouring the inter-webs
obsessively I came across Simple Stroller Rental. They had the best prices of all the Orlando based stroller rental companies and they offered a military discount, so I was sold.
Their booking process couldn’t have been easier, you don’t even have to create an account. Just select the stroller that’s best for you, they offer singles, doubles, and even triples! They’re website includes real time tracking of inventory available so you don’t need to worry about them being sold of the type you booked. (Also their customer service people couldn’t be more helpful, I emailed them several times and they helped me right away!)
The folks at Simple Stroller Rental delivered our City Mini Double to our resort, Shades Of Green, and it was with the Bell staff when we arrived. Sidenote: If you’re staying at other Disney World resorts you will have to be there to take delivery. The stroller was very clean and in great shape from Simple Stroller Rentals well maintained fleet.
They also sent along an optional rain cover…get the rain cover people. We needed it the very first day, and every day after. Gotta love those sudden Florida downpours. Our kids loved the stroller and found it to be very comfortable, Karter obviously rode in it the most, but the big kids also used it when all the walking tired them out. It was nice to have somewhere to keep our lunch safe while we were on rides, and not have to worry about going back to the Disney lockers to retrieve it. There was also a seat for Mickey, and Karter’s shoes, because he’s a shoes optional kind of guy.
In the afternoons Karter was able to catch a little nap when he needed it (he is still just two years old after all) reclined and in the shade. Our City Mini Double was big enough to keep the kids comfy and hold all the stuff we needed it too, but small enough that I didn’t feel like I was running people over the whole day.
Bonus tip: Tie some sort of ribbon, balloon, glowstick around the handle of your stroller to make it easy to identify yours in the sea of strollers.
I want to thank Simple Stroller Rental for letting us borrow one of your strollers last week, it was truly a life saver. While I was able to use their stroller free of charge in exchange for this review, the opinions on Life of Verde’s are always 100% truthfully my own–I’d never lie to ya!
